What happens to the files you open

When you choose a track, your browser reads it from your own disk into the memory of the page. It is analysed and rendered there, and the corrected file is written straight back to your downloads folder. None of it is transmitted to us or to anyone else at any point. Close the tab and the audio is gone from memory.

Everything online wants to watch you do it. We went the other way. Privacy is a human right, and you should be able to run a track through BPM Lock without wondering where it went or who else has a copy.

Accounts, browser storage and tracking

This site uses no advertising and no cross-site trackers, and nothing here can follow you to another site.

Accounts are optional. The tool works exactly the same whether you are signed in or not, and you never need an account to fix a track. If you choose to make one, we hold your email address and a display name if you set one. We never receive your Google password or ask you to create a BPM Lock password. You can sign in with an email link, or with Google when that option is available. Supabase provides sign-in and stores account data. If you choose Google, Google and Supabase process the sign-in and Supabase may store your Google account identifier, email, name and profile image metadata. We request basic identity information, not access to Gmail, Google Drive or your contacts. Your public review name is still one you choose. Signing in saves a session token in your browser's local storage so the site remembers you between visits. This account flow does not set a session cookie. Your theme preference is also saved in local storage.

We do measure three things, all through Vercel and all cookieless and first party. Web Analytics counts page views: which page was opened, roughly which country it was opened from, and what kind of device it was. It also counts completed renders, so we know how many songs the tool has fixed and whether they worked. That event carries three facts about the job: the whole-number BPM the grid was locked to, the format you exported, and the kind of file you opened, such as mp3 or wav. It never carries the file's name, and never any of its audio. Speed Insights records how quickly the page itself loaded and responded, which is how we find out the site is slow for someone before they give up on it. None of them can follow you anywhere else on the web.

Reviews

When you submit a review, we store your chosen public name, rating, review text, moderation status and submission and update times in Supabase, linked to your account. Approved reviews are public. Your account email is not included in public reviews. New reviews and edits wait for moderation. You can edit or delete your review from your account menu. Please do not include filenames, private details or unreleased track names.

Published reviews are copied into the site when it is rebuilt, including its public review data and search-engine structured data. Edits, moderation changes and deletions reach those copies after the next successful site update. Search engines and other third-party caches may retain older copies beyond our control.

Your rights

Using the tool itself still involves no personal data. Your audio is never transmitted, and the render counts we measure carry no name and no identity, so there is nothing there to access, correct or delete.

If you have an account, you can delete it yourself at any time from the account menu in the top corner of the site. Deleting it removes your email address, your display name and your review from the active account database. Published review copies are removed on the next successful site update. Provider backups and operational logs may persist under the provider's retention settings. You can also write to the address below to request access, correction or deletion of your account data. If you have contacted us by email and want that correspondence removed, ask and we will delete it.

Bug reports are much easier to act on with the genre and rough tempo of the track, your browser and operating system, and what you expected versus what you heard. Please do not email audio files. We cannot accept them, and you should not need to send them.
